Anatomy of a screenplay

Where do you begin a post about the best few weeks of your life that were as full as any few week have ever been, and do it justice?

We are married! It was spectacular and full of love and support and happiness and a lot of tears (good ones). Tom and I are so grateful for everything and very aware of our spoiledness and we are trying to think of ways to repay all of the kindness.

We honeymooned in Hawaii and had the time of our lives (yep, we filmed a bad Sandals commercial). We explored the old Hawaiian haunts of mine and stayed in a wonderful hotel or three, and snorkeled and ate and ate and ok, ate. Annnnd fell in love with a silver stallion of a jeep.

We had the most wonderful time but we had to return…

…and for reasons that were not too shabby. We had two more open houses in Texas that were incredible and were what I would classify as a big yeehaw time.

But, life had to get back to some sort of normal…well…for one of us.

This weekend, my friend Suzanne is getting married as well. Instead of spending money and time on going back and forth from Texas and Utah and back we decided that it would be most economical for me to just stay. Tom needed to get back to work, so that is where we stand. I am anxious to see him and start unpacking all of our stuff. And to see Source Code.

What a boo boo head I am without my husband. Then again, it is as if I have returned to exactly who I was before. Or, I guess, who I was three weeks ago. Funny thing is…I don’t want to be that person anymore. She was cool and all, but a little neurotic. Which is why these days without him are a little tough. I miss him. Also, he took our floss, and my mom is tired of me borrowing hers. Or she will be when she knows that I have been.

I am glad to get an opportunity to be with my family though and to get to see all of the Texas peeps.

Also, I have been left with nothing but my iPad so I have gone on a picture posting haul. I am notorious for taking pictures that I never post, so, with no wedding to plan, no husband to gaze at and no job to consume eight hours of my weekdays, I figure, I will be like all of the people who find time to do those things even WITH all of those tasks/blessings. I am a lightweight, but I am hoping that when I actually get to be married again, Tom will help me to be the heavyweight champ. Without actually being heavy in weight, or, hopefully.

To Tom,

I miss you and please don’t sleep at any best buys while I am away. And I promise that I won’t be so honest in the future about arm licking.

PS) I read that Kate Middleton went grocery shopping a few days after their wedding. HEY, I did that, too!

This is what happens when your fiance lets your Aunt’s bird out for the first time. It got a lot funnier than the photos  and it was somewhat touch and go there for a while. I am glad he still has two eyes and nine fingers.

When having a, shall we say, unpleasant day? It is so wonderful to have a fiance that anticipates all of that, and schedules you a facial in advance to preempt any further grumpiness. I’m no girly-girl (or, I guess I am sometimes) but facials are a new and exciting world to me, in which I plan to do more exploring… hence.

For a man who had a song about everything, this one is pretty good.

This example #1,000,003 of my wonderful fiance’s thoughtfulness, thoroughness, and cuteness.
When you tell your guy in passing that you might be missing certain aspects of your life in California, and stupidly include a bookshelf on that list, and then he brings it to your door a few hours later, you better marry that man.

The only substantial progress in my moving-in process. Sigh.
And its snowing, so I’ve decided that it’s Annette Funicello and The Beach Boys time.

What a cute skyper.

So, our dear friends, the Cowan’s, were amazing to let us use their neck of the woods for the weekend of our engagement. I had no idea that he was proposing. They did. However, HE had no idea that Lisa Cowan was going to be the biggest dear in the world and paparazzi the whole thing. Here are just a few of her amazing candids. After the whole event was over and we came to announce to them that we were indeed, engaged, Lisa said, “Oh, we know!” and immediately showed us all of the pictures she had stolen. We were so amazed and so grateful. Not to mention she had also sent a “spy” of sorts to pretend he was just an innocent bystander taking pictures of the sunset who then, as soon as we were engaged, let us think we were the clever ones asking him to take our picture. Sneaky, sneaky. And brilliant.

Pretty much the best weekend and best experience ever.

Cute stuff is so cute. Ok, now back to my script. I just needed a cute break.
